One of the best ways to understand the needs of an area is to walk with people who live and work in the community for a first-hand perspective. Community members are invited to join project staff as we walk portions of the Barbur Concept Plan study area. In addition to observing needs and documenting existing conditions, the walks will also help identify opportunities and constraints that should be analyzed in the plan.
Walk A: Burlingame and Hamilton
Meet near the Safeway on the corner of Southwest Barbur Boulevard and Capitol Hill Road (TriMet stop #170). Walk and discuss the Burlingame area, then after about 50 minutes, board the bus together to visit the Hamilton area.
Plan your trip to the meeting location with the TriMet trip planner
Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. There are several areas along Southwest Barbur Boulevard and adjoining streets that have no sidewalks. Portions of these routes may not be fully accessible by wheelchair.
Contact Morgan Tracy at morgan.tracy@portlandoregon.gov or 503-823-6879 if you have questions, concerns or wish to join for a portion of the tour or take a modified route.
