Walk There! event series - Hillsboro Orenco history walk
Experience the old and new in this two-hour trek led by local author Laura Foster. Walkers explore two planned communities, one old (the 1906 town of Orenco) and one new (the Orenco Station area). Learn about the area's roots and the neighborhood named by Sunset magazine as the West Coast's best new suburb in 2006. The walk will be approximately three to four miles long on relatively flat terrain. No dogs allowed. Meet at Hillsboro's Northwest 231st Avenue MAX park and ride at 8:45 a.m. Free.
